Weigh Down Ministries was established in the 1980s. It has been held in over 30,000 locations all over the world. It was originally considered one of the largest faith-based seminars in the world at one time.Joseph and Sonya Smith lost over 200 pounds through Weigh Down and were teaching classes weekly in their home in 2003. Dozens of participants visited their home each week for these seminar classes. The ZionKids series was developed and produced by Gwen Shamblin. A mother of two grown children and grandmother to five beautiful girls, Gwen saw a need in the current children’s video market for lessons that combined fundamental educational principles with precious instruction about God and His Word.
